After a week's break, Mummy fed Jordan cereal today! This time, Daddy bought Nestle infant cereal with milk. Jordan was excited upon smelling the fragrance of the cereal and took in more feeds than before! It was a messy meal but Daddy & Mummy were glad that Jordan is swallowing the cereal!
Jordan stared at Daddy's camera while waiting for the cereal to reach his mouth.
Jordan wants to hold the spoon too! He even pushed the spoon further into his mouth!
A messy cereal meal time!
Another messy face!
Daddy brought Jordan to fetch Mummy from work again. Thereafter, Daddy decided to go Vivocity to buy some groceries. In the lift, an indian lady was standing besides Daddy and Jordan was in the pram facing Daddy. As usual, Jordan would look around at the persons besides Daddy. Jordan stared at the indian lady for a few seconds and turned back at Daddy. Immediately, Jordan started crying out loud. Mummy quickly pushed Jordan out of the lift. Daddy picked him up and started to soothe him. However Jordan continued to wail for 2-3 minutes and Mummy took over. Gradually Jordan calmed down. This is interesting. Daddy realised Jordan might have felt scared when seeing the indian lady with such a dark skin tone.

Daddy has no wedding assignment this Sunday and decided to bring Jordan for a swim again! Jordan is now aware of the surroundings and was nervous when he felt the cold waters damping his legs and clothes. Mummy was slow in introducing the waters to Jordan with songs and games. After a while, Mummy slowly submerged Jordan into the pool. Jordan felt scared and cold in the beginning but Mummy persisted and carried him closely to her chest. Daddy then put on the swimming buoy and soon Jordan is in the waters, shocked and unfamiliar with the new experience. Not long, Jordan is kicking his legs to the waters and revealing a few smiles and babytalk!

Mummy's youngest sisters, Lihuan, bought a pink ball for Macy. Macy possessed it immediately. The ball would never leave her, no matter where she goes.

Daddy bought a kid's piano for Jordan in Oct, when Jordan returned home from hospital. Since then, Jordan loved hitting his hands on the musical instrument while listening to automatic melodies.

Jordan's baby doctor said that we could try letting Jordan try cereal, vegetables and fruits. So Daddy & Mummy decided to let Jordan try the cereal first. Jordan was thrilled upon smelling the cereal. He was moving his legs frantically. After the first taste, Jordan did not show signs of rejection so Mummy gave a few more feeds. It was a messy meal! The cereal drooped out of his mouth at every feed! Poor Jordan as he had not know how to swallow food.

In the evening, Daddy also brought Mummy and Jordan to view the Christmas lightings at Orchard! Jordan was thrilled at the lights and kept screaming away!

Jordan has fully recovered from Bronchiolities and is ready to take his next vaccination! Other than the compulsory vaccination, Jordan is also taking the 2nd dose of Anti-Rotavirus oral vaccination and the 1st jab of Anti-Pneumoccocal vaccination. This means that Jordan is taking two jabs today, one at each side of his buttocks! Poor Jordan.

Jordan's weight is 8.2kg at 5mths old! Baby doctor said this is amazing, weight increasing despite the serious bronchiolities.
Dr Ng said that he would administer the less painful jab first, and Jordan would cry without tears. Amazing, Jordan really cried without tears, he just continued to wail and scream. Dr Ng said he is scolding us!

For the 2nd jab, Jordan immediately teared out! It must be real painful, Mummy thought. Dr Ng hugged Jordan and even said "sorry" to soothe Jordan. Not to worry, Jordan stopped crying but laughed after stepping out of Dr Ng's room.

Jordan had become aware of surroundings, often curious to capture 360 degrees of eye view. Jordan also started attempts to reach out for his feet, stretching his leg muscles as much as possible just to have a taste of his own feet!

Today, Daddy bought a toy for Macy. Macy possessed it immediately without letting it go.

Daddy & Mummy also played with Jordan in the evening time. Jordan is now making a higher pitch of sound when he is happy or when he dislikes something. Screaming, we called it! Jordan also started to explore a new perspective of sight when being on his tummy. He loved the experience initially, but soon showed discomfort when his arms couldn't withstand the weight any longer.

The past 2 weeks had been a painful journey for Jordan & his parents as Jordan developed bronchiolities at just 4mth old.
Mummy recalled the very last time when Mummy & Daddy had ever felt so sad & helpless then. It was about 4 yrs back when Macy had ticks on her body. Mummy still remembered vividly on one morning when Mummy was feeding Macy breakfast, Mummy saw a tick crawling out of Macy's fur. Shocked, Mummy immediately shouted for Daddy. It just takes a hand to gently shoved away Macy's fur and we could see ticks hiding within. Mummy instantly dropped tears while Daddy continued to pick up the many ticks and killing them one by one. Without hesitation, Mummy & Daddy threw away their breakfast bread and rushed Macy to the vet immediately. The next few weeks was 100% tender care for Macy's condition, with Daddy picking up ticks from her body and house, and Mummy spring-cleaning and removing all carpets. What really melted our hearts was Macy's happy face despite the pain & itichiness that she had to bear.
Sun 18 Oct, Mummy discovered Jordan coughing occasionally. Mon 19 Oct, Jordan developed runny nose and produced a whizzing sound when he slept. Tue, 20 Oct was Jordan's vaccination day so Daddy & Mummy took this opportunity to describe these symptoms to Dr Ng, paediatrician. To Mummy & Daddy's surprise, Dr Ng pronounced Jordan having bronchiolities after listening to Jordan's breathing pattern. What is bronchiolities, Mummy thought. Dr Ng prescribed cough syrup, nose drips and mask inhalation and warned us to be alert of fever and/or breathlessness symptoms.
The use of the nebulizer and mask on Jordan was difficult as Jordan felt restrained by the mask in front and continuous steam blowing into his face. Mummy & Daddy had to take turns to engage him with songs and toys during the 10minutes inhalation.
Thanks to Mummy's colleagues, Carrie, Serene and Annie for offering lots of advice on bronchiolities.
Jordan's condition did not improve till Thu, 22 Oct morning, 7am. Jordan woke up feeling grumpy and was coughing more often. He also displayed sounds of discomfort and was whizzing more loudly. Daddy & Mummy felt uneasy and decided to bring him to the paediatrician again. This time, Dr Ng said to ward him to hospital. Daddy & Mummy were prepared for it. Mount E was full so Mount Alvernia was the next alternative. When we reached the bed, the physiotherapist came and said that she is doing a suction process to remove the mucus accumulating at Jordan's breathing tubes. Daddy had to help the physiotherapist hold on to Jordan's hands too. This was the painful, heart-breaking & helpless moment for Jordans's parents. When the small tube was inserted through Jordan's nose, Jordan felt discomfort and started making noise. And when the vacuuming started, Jordan started to cry louder while trying to move his hands. However his hands were held on by Daddy, so Jordan began to cry even louder and at the same time, had to breathe harder. The scene was sad. Jordan's loud persistent cries filled the whole room while Daddy & Mummy helplessly looked on. This was the ever loudest cries that he has made ever since he was born. The clock passed by in seconds, and Mummy prayed that the physiotherapist can finish her suction process soonest possible. However, the process just seemed so long and dragging as the physiotherapist carried on doing the suction on Jordan's another nose and mouth too. Mummy kept telling herself to be strong as this is for the good of him. However the emotions overwhelmed the sensible mind and Mummy dropped tears eventually. Probably the physiotherapist noticed Mummy crying, she continued for a short while before stopping and explaining to Mummy that the suction process is not painful but discomfort to the patient. Daddy also fought back his tears.
Soon, admission application is settled and grandma arrived to take care of Jordan. Daddy & Mummy went home to feed Macy and bring more neccessities before rushing back to this hospital. Thanks to Uncle Norman (Daddy's 2nd sister's father-in-law) for arranging a priest to bless Jordan and fetching the priest to and fro. Jordan started to drink lesser too but still remained happy and smiled at familar faces. Thanks to Yang Sun for taking on Daddy's assignment as videographer for SAFRA Jurong opening ceremony.
Daddy had wedding assignments from Fri 23 Oct till Sun 25 Oct, so Mummy would have to handle the home and hospital matters, and be strong. Mummy would travel between home and hospital. In the hospital, Mummy would carry Jordan for walks and made him happy with songs, talks and play. Jordan remained a happy baby boy with constant smiles and active limbs although Mummy could feel his discomfort from the consistent coughs, sneezes and sore throat. Mummy also carried him to sleep in her arms with lullabies and cuddles. At home, Mummy continued with the routine of bringing Macy down for walk, feed Macy and helped Daddy with his work. Mummy also updated Daddy on Jordan's condition and reassured Daddy that everything is well.
Dr Ng came to check on Jordan's condition every morning and evening. The suction process was still done in the same evening and once the next day too. Mummy braved through these sessions with no tears, strength given by God. After 2 days stay in the hospital, Dr Ng said on Sat 24 Oct that Jordan still had wheezing and the mucus has not cleared in the airways. However if we would want Jordan to be nursed at home, we could do so. Immediately, Mummy said yes and checked out of hospital on Sat 24 Oct 10am (with a thanksgiving prayer at Mount Alvernia's chapel).
Sat 24 Oct, we reached home at 11am. Jordan had his afternoon nap and woke up at 6am. Mummy then noticed Jordan coughing more persistently than usual. The coughing lasted 30minutes and Mummy could hear Jordan's breathlessness more visibly than ever. Jordan also displayed sounds of discomfort, seemingly to tell Mummy that he is feeling unwell. Daddy was already out for the wedding dinner and Mummy had to decide the next best action for Jordan. To the A&E at Mount Alvernia hospital, Mummy decided with a sinking heart. At the same time, Mummy also informed Dr Ng. Along the way to the hospital, Jordan showed improvement and stopped making discomfort noise. But in the hospital, Jordan vomitted out his milk, mixed with phelgm. Dr Ng arrived at 9.20pm and diagnosed Jordan again. He advised to re-admit Jordan for safety reasons. Mummy agreed. The suction process was done again on Jordan while Mummy braved through it with no tears. Jordan slept soundly with tears wetting his face after the suction process. Jordan was given a two-bedder room this time, as single bed rooms were all taken up. It was already 11.30pm when things were settled in the hospital. Daddy was informed about Jordan's re-admission when his wedding dinner assignment ended at 11.45pm. Mummy reassured Daddy that things were under control.
Sun 25 Oct, Mummy did the same routine between home and hospital.
Mon 26 Oct, Daddy finally could visit Jordan at the hospital. Hopes of discharge were dashed when Dr Ng said to stay in the hospital for 1 more day. Dr Ng also arranged for an X-ray to be done for Jordan's lungs. Results were out in the evening, when Dr Ng said that its confirmed bronchiolities and not pneumonia.
Tue 27 Oct, Jordan's condition improved much in the morning. Dr Ng said that he could be discharged. Happily, everything was packed and Daddy & Mummy brought Jordan for a thanksgiving prayer at the hospital's chapel before leaving the hospital at 10am.
Since then, Mummy administered all the medicine and nebulizer. On Thu 29 Oct, Jordan's wheezing, cough & sneeze improved. Fri 30 Oct, Daddy had a wedding assignment so Mummy brought Jordan to visit Dr Ng herself. Dr Ng pronounced Jordan 90% recovered. Mummy heaved a sign of relief.
Today, Jordan's laughters and talks had returned. He is noisy again. In fact, he started screaming now, communicating his likes and dislikes.
While Jordan is recovering, Mummy & Daddy fell ill. Mummy's flu had been around for 5 days and Mummy is still fighting the flu virus.
Jordan's immunity fight with bronchiolities had brought Daddy & Mummy closer to Jordan. What lies ahead, let God guide the family through.

Thanks to Daddy's friend, Daddy & Mummy could spend a night at Sentosa - Amara Sanctuary Hotel with Jordan! It was a courtyard suite room with buggy transport from the hotel lobby to the room. Every courtyard suite room is greeted by a villa-like entrance. Daddy loved the breakfast and the whole service experience with every hotel's staff is simply excellent. There is also a complimentary plate of fruits and red wine bottle for the night time. Throughout the stay, Jordan's eyes were kept wide open to the surroundings and could easily fell asleep.
